What Tool Should I Use When Cutting A PVC, PLY or MDF Panel
If you are cutting a wall panel, we would always recommend using a fine toothed handsaw or jigsaw. If you are fitting PVC ceiling panels you have the option to use a Stanley Knife.
What Is The Process I Follow When Cutting A Wall Panel
Step 1: In order to stabilise your panel for cutting, place it on a flat, sturdy surface. Make sure the panel graphic is facing down. Where the panel is in contact with a hard surface make sure the face of the panel is protected.
Step 2: Taking your tape measure and pencil, making the necessary measurements on the back of the panel, making sure to make two marks at each end of the panel. Double check these measurements with the area the panel will be fitted.
Step 3: Take your ruler and make a clear, straight-lined mark on the back of the panel which should be facing the ceiling.
Step 4: Using your tool of choice, cut an incision at one end of the panel. Slowly begin to cut the panel in a straight line directly through the panel following your lined mark.
